A study just published in The Archives of Internal Medicine 10/06 was the FIRST to look at the prevalence of PCOS. It was a study out of Spain that found that 28.3% of overweight female patients seeking medical advice for weight loss had PCOS. This suggests that physicians treating overweight and obese patients should be screening for PCOS by obtaining a detailed menstrual history and a careful clinical evaluation of hyperandrogenic symptoms....Im sure we are missing this in our women....
