Hi I was just wondering I am just now starting to actuaqlly research and learn alot on PCOS I heard that it is caused by insulin resistance by being over-weight I was over weight until i was 15 and then I lost 65 pounds and have no put it back on since I went to the doctor at 14 because i thought i had it and they said no I didn't after many tests but then after screwed up periods for the next few years i went back at 19 and they did the same tests and it come back that i did have it. I don't quite get it it seams like PCOS affects "overweight" women but yet when I was over-weight I didn't seam to show symptoms of it yet when I was thin I did show symptoms I don't get it I also heard that PCOS is hereditary yet no-one in my family on either side has this or even have ever heard of it! My dads side of the family is apple shaped and have always been bigger though my grandma and two aunto are both diabetic but htey do not have PCOS, is there a connection there? I just need some advise I am so confussed about this illness!

PCOS is indeed a very confusing disease. That's what this thing is. There is no cure. We just have to manage it right and take care of ourselves. My mom's side of the family are the bigger, apple shaped, diabetic ones. My dad's side are the skinny, no health issue ones and yet I got it from his side. Nothing is for certain. I hope you find the answers you are looking for.
