I am 19 and have been ignoring my PCOS since i was about 12.... I know that probably wasn't a smart thing to do but i was young and didn't understand at that time what was going on...now that i'm 19 i have been trying to find out more information on what I can do to help myself for the future..I've been on Birth Control since I was 12 and that has helped my hair growth and hormone levels significatly...About 1.5 years after starting the Birth Control I found out i was insulin resistant. So my doctor put me on Metformin. In the begining this made a signifiant difference for me and i lost all the weight i needed to but b/c i wasn't watching what i was eating after the doc. took me off the medicine i gained all my weight back.. Now I am back on the medicine for the second time and am having problems loosing the weight i need to. My major concern is diet.. I don't understand how i'm suppose to eat, what i can eat, and what i can't eat....Does anyone have any idea for me...as i am a full time worker and student it is very hard for me to find time to actually cook for hours...
