Hi. My name is Katie and I'm new here. Last year, I was diagnosed with PCOS. The only thing my gynocologist told me was that I had the condition. He gave me no information about the condition and told me "Don't bother trying to lose weight because you'll never get down to your ideal weight."
I was discouraged. I was glad to find out why I've had a hard time losing weight since I was a preteen and why my periods have always been irregular and painful, but I also felt very lost.
I gained 10 pounds between that time and when I got married and I've gained 10 pounds more since then. I moved and when I got my annual physical done, my new PA was shocked at the things my gynocologist had said to me and that he hadn't even sent me to a nutritionist. My nutritionist told me low-carb because of the insulin issues that come along with PCOS.
I look forward to learning about the condition and getting to know other women with it. :)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

I still have a lot to learn about this condition but I refuse to let it take over my life. I will lose weight and I will have a baby some way or another- adoption is always an option.
thanks for listening :)
I'm thankful for this site! I've been pretty torn on how I feel being told it's going to be difficult to get pregnant.
