Hi, I'm new and have a few questions. Back in 1989 I had a mini stroke and had my kidneys checked at that time. The specialists told me I had a couple cysts in my kidneys but it was nothing to worry about. About 5 years ago I was hopitlalized with eskeemic colitis and found out I have PKD. I was told that my kidneys are huge. The surgeon also told me that it could be quite painful but my gp told me there should be no pain.I also have fibromyalgia and from what I've read in this site PKD can cause alot of pain. Now I'm confused!!!! How do I tell the difference from fibro and kidneys? I know my back drives me nuts and after sitting for any lenght of time I have alot of pain on my upper left side, near the ribs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
