Everyone has beliefs about themselves. For example I believe that I am totally useless and I am stupid. Now what I have been taught is to challenge my beliefs. You need to find the evidence to back it up otherwise it is not true. Your beliefs filters your judgement of the world and how you perceive things so sometimes it helps to have a good friend to help you with this. They see the real you and can help you find your evidence. I have a habit of twisting things to fit my beliefs. For example I got something at work wrong. Instead of saying I am human and everyone makes mistakes. I twist it to my beliefs way of thinking of I am totally useless. I have got a book and I write the belief on the top of the page and then underneath I have for and against and most of the time the horrible things I believe about myself are not true. They have been put in my head by other people to keep me down and not believing in myself. I say no more and challenge my negative thinking.
