Mediation - Child Custody

Tomorrow is my mediation date. My ex and I have to figure out how the visitations will work. He is currently in 'adult detention' for other issues but am not sure how he is handling the restraining order and my request for full parental custody of our son Matthew. I almost want to ask the mediator if I can be in the same room just to see his face but I am not sure that is a good idea. I want to know if he is likely to kill me when this is all over.

Any advice? Has anyone gone through this before?

My ex-husband hunted me down with a gun when I left him. I left the state. I am certain he would have killed me if he'd had a chance.

No one can say what your crazy husband will do.

Make sure you have any threats documented. Never let the restraining order lapse.

Once you get permanent full custody, can you leave the state?

I don't trust anyone NOT to kill me if they say they are going to. I consider all threats of bodily harm to be real.

I want you to be very cautious. Talk to friend and family members. They probably know the depth of your husband's insanity and they can help you make a plan.

I went through something similar. I won the case. My son's biodad has antisocial personality disorder. He was denied mediation and we were assigned a coordinator to determine suitable visitation schedule, currently have my son in counseling to surmise whether he should even see his biodad at all. Biodad has made death threats. I take all safety concerns seriously because of what happens in real life. I don't know how mediation works if you're not in the same room? That's why son's biodad didn't get mediation. I can't stand his verbal assaults and he's too stupid to stop verbally assaulting me. There are stories so horrible just on DS ... so do whatever you can to protect your family :)

I am afraid to tell the mediator of the death threats he has given me in the past but I do see how I need to take this very seriously. I know I am not afraid for nothing. THe mediation date is today.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
