Hi to all fellow group members. I just joined your group and wanted to let you all know that I have a degree in Animal Sciences and have a house full of rescued cats. I took the course about 4 years ago to save on vet bills. I make my own diagnosis on my cats that are ill (and we have several virus's in this house) and have a wonderful vet who doesn't even need to see the cat (which saves me the cost of the office visit) and will dispense me (for veterinary use only) drugs. It's only when I'm not sure of something that I take my cats in. I do all my own IV's, injections, etc. and the only thing I can't do that a vet does is surgery. I treat a lot of my cats with homeopathic drugs too and have had wonderful results. I just wanted to say that if I can help or save anyone some money don't hesitate to let me know. I don't profess to be a vet or even to know everything that a vet knows but after 16 years of rescuing cats from the street and having taken the course, I'd be more than happy to share whatever I know with you. As an added note........beware and I mean be aware, of giving your pets 'vaccines'. While vets will tell you it's a necessary yearly procedure, it is NOT. It is nothing more than 40% of a clinics revenue and while most vets are of course animal lovers themselves, let's face it, they are there to make money. Anyway, that's an entirely different discussion and I know I only have so much space here so I just wanted to say Hi and be of some help if you need it.
