Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.

I am wondering what to do.
I just separated from my husband, he was suppose to keep our cats, but decided that it was to hard on him, too many bittersweet memories linked to our cats, and our little one can be very demanding.
What to do???
Do I bring them with me to the States, do I find them a home, or do I have them put to sleep (which would be my last resort cause I love them too much).
They are about to turn 10, and they are 2 sisters, that were never separated in their life. They got to our home when they were 7 weeks old, and never knew another home.
I am scared right now and don't know what to do, please help me.
Thanks for any advice you might have.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
my friend relocated to the states 2 yrs ago and brought her 7 yr old boxer...i am sure you could talk to the vet about meds to help them with the flight etc.. PLEASE keep these kitties, they are like your children right??
Thanks for the helpful advice.
I didnt mean for my post to sound angry. I apologize if I hurt your feelings. I know there are some cases to where people have to put down an animal, I had to make that decision myself,( about 20 years ago) my dog lost his ability to see, hear, and walk. And he would not eat or drink. My vet even cried that day, she so loved him also. But just to put an animal down without a VERY good reason is to me one of the most horrible things to do.
Please accept my apology if I have offended you. And to anyone else, I apologize if you take my posting wrong. : )
