Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.

Have any of you met up with a narcissist in your life?
They are people who have:
-no empathy (can't put themselves in others' shoes, so can hurt others without remorse)
-no ability to accept responsibility for wrong actions (instead, they blame the other person for what they themselves do)
-use various defense mechanisms to keep people from getting into their "heart, real core self"
(such as gaslighting, bait n switch, doublebinds)
-turn your friends and loved ones against you, by convincing them of lies about you.
-show a false self to the world but show their true evil-nature to people near and dear.
-scapegoat people
The people were generally from families where they were abused, neglected and/or "star-ified"
If you have been in the grasp of such a person, especially a female, I'd like to talk with you more on this and compare notes.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I spent the first 12 years of my life being raised by a father who had NPD as well as Bipolar Disorder I. My mother was very much in love with him, codependent & blind to his manipulation for years. When she would leave town, that was when the worst of the violence & abuse would occur. Both my sister & I are now in ongoing trauma therapy for PTSD. It was very eventful, to say the least! The last I have heard, he still refuses to admit he has a problem at all & is now heavily into Scientology.
What does this mean, please?
