I have borderline personality disorder, and i was wondering if any other borderlines have problems with boredom. lemme explain...i get bored very easily. i could be in the middle of my favorite thing and i'll get a wave of boredom. when i get bored, i feel empty, like there's something missing, also, it makes me depressed and it almost feels like it eats at me on the inside. boredom is unbearable for me and i was just wonder if anyone else had that problem and if so, what do you do about it? i try to keep myself busy, but like i said, even when i'm in the middle of something, i still get bored.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
If I'm busy, I'm usually okay, and since my last hospital stay and being on a good combination of meds, this problem has greatly improved. Now, I can usually sit here and keep myself reading or find something interesting on tv and be okay. Before, I never used to watch television. I called it poison for my brain. Now, I have a few select shows I watch, and it helps to pass the time.
Boredom is a problem for A LOT of people with mental illness. It's always good for us to keep busy and keep our minds occupied with something positive. In your case, though, I'm not sure what to tell you. I wish I had the answers. Best wishes!

I saw a great therapist, and she helped me look for a small job. My confidence was so low and my life so unstable that I had trouble believing I could down a job, because Ive never been able to.
I tried so hard and managed to work part time for a year and a half before working full time. The difference to my life is amazing. Without the boredom, I have some self believe, I know i can handle hard times, and i can build a life for myself. I've never had that type of depression since.
I do get bored quickly though, even if im doing something i enjoy. I always try and give myself something to look forward to and enjoy the moment
