Peptic Ulcers Support Group
A peptic ulcer is an ulcer of one of those areas of the gastrointestinal tract that are usually acidic. Most ulcers are now known to be associated with Helicobacter pylori, a spiral-shaped bacterium that lives in the acidic environment of the stomach. About 4 % of gastric ulcers are caused by a malignant tumor, which is one reason to be vigilant in their detection.

March 2007 had endo which showed 5 large active ulcers. Been treated with PPI and Carafate. Am still having pain and nausea, bloating. Had another scope 3 weeks ago. The GI ballooned the partial obstruction and said 2 ulcers look like they are trying to heal but the others are still active. Started me on Zegerid. Any one with experience with this med? I take no NSAID. What is left to do besides surgery? Getting frustrated and tired of all the pain. Thank you
