I have stomach ulcers and duodenum ulcers caused by helicobacter pylori. I was diagnosed at Mayo Clinic in 2002. I was given two antibiotics, biaxin and flagyl, and had an allergy reaction to the medication and they stopped it after only one dosage and told me to go back home and get my family doctor to figure out a combination of antibiotics to help get rid of the the helicobacter pylori. He desn't have an answer and Mayo Clinic doesn't have an answer and I've been living with this ulcer pain since 2002 and taking different acid blockers. I don't know what to do about it. I've asked the doctors here in the city I live if they can do a culture and figure out what antibiotic that I could use to get rid of it. All I seem to be getting is no answers, no relief and frustrated. I went to Mayo Clinic because they were supposed to be number 1 in treating gastro disease, but I guess because my time and finances are limited, I got treated differently than I thought I would have in the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, MN. I don't know what to do but moan and groan and be frustrated. Does anyone know of a hospital that treats a person as a person and not as a number and specializes in treating ulcers caused by helicobacter pylori? I'm sorry about rambling on, I just don't know what else to do. I've just been sitting and waiting in pain for my family doctor to come up with an answer. He says he's waiting for the gastro doctor to come up with an answer. I live in the midwest.
