I suggest you talk to your Dad's doctor. My husband takes Stalevo which is basically a combination of sinemet and comptan and he found that the Stalevo seemed to make it harder for him to sleep so he stopped taking it before bedtime. In your father's case, it could be the comptan.
Just something for you to look into as doctors really don't know how people are going to react to the medications so sometimes changes are in order.
