I need someone to explain Rigidity in lay terms that I can understand. I have been diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Disorder in my shoulders and neck, I have been told I have bilateral Thoracic Outlet Syndrome that is causing my numbness and muscle spasms in my arms and neck. I get painful spasms in both arms, across my shoulders and in my neck. This happens sometimes without even moving much. Is this rigidity? Is my physical therapist going at this from the wrong angles? I also get muscle stiffness in my left leg mostly through my thigh area that can actually wake me out of my sleep. They have me using a rolling pin on that when it gets really tight to help loosen the muscles up.
I'm so confused but I hate to take the muscle relaxers along with all the other stuff because I am so tired!

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
The neurologist is still sitting on the fence about saying yes it is Parkinsons. Saw him today and I'm feeling horrible. He started saying he would try me on a PD medicine but then said we would wait another month. Now I have to go see a neurosurgeon about my thoracic outlet issues and the numbness in my left arm. I just looked him up and he is in network so thats good.
I'll keep plugging along
p.s. - I was prescribed the muscle relaxers too... just makes you tired. PD meds are the key.
Wishing you the best.
you are all great and I hope we all make a difference in each other's lives the way you have in mine
