My youngest son was diagnosed with ADHD this September. The doctor and I had known this all the time but we were waiting to see how he would be in school. His doctor said that he thinks that my son would benefit hugely if he were put on medication. My oldest son also has ADHD and he was on Ritalin for about a year. My daughter has ADD and I refused to have her on medications. Since my son has been on vyvanse he is much more focused and productable. He is much happier also. For a few days the doctor had me not give him the medication---what a difference. He really does benefit from this medication. And this medication only stays in your system for 12 hours. I am usually one that doesn't think a child needs medication--behavior modification works but in this case......the benefits are good for him.
