My 8 year old was 'officially' diagnosed as ADHD on Friday. Dr. did the evaluation questionaire with mom and dad, 2 teachers from school and even 2 teachers from our before/after daycare. He is not the abusive time, just more the acting on impuse, not paying enough attention to things, etc. Dr. suggests medication - however, dad and I are not in favor of this - would prefer behavior modification steps. Anyone gone this route? Any suggestions of things to try to improve attention span and ability to curtail the impulsivity?
