I am a newcomer. I have 3 boys. One, 6 with ADHD. He was just diagnosed this past year. Yesterday he went to his first baseball practice. I sat on the bench and cried while I watched him as he was unable to control himself. I felt like people stared and he was a bother to them. He put sand in his glove, put his glove on his head, chanted batter, batter, danced, jumped made noises and played a little ball. All of this while I cried. After practice I asked him if he liked baseball. I was hoping he would say no, just to avoid the further humiliation or people making fun of him. He did not like basketball, so I thought this may be the same. He said he liked it. I asked him why he could not stand still adn he just says he tries but his body keeps moving. God bless him. I only medicate him in the am before school, he gets 10 mg of ADDERALL XR. I do not know if people medicate their children so they can play sports. We see the DR next week. Has anyone ever gone through this? HELP!
