My daughter is getting tired of barbie, and her older step-sister has exposed her to an interactive site for older girls that I won't allow. I've set that boundary with her, but would like to give her some other suggestions that are more age-appropriate for her.
Puzzles. Doesn't link anywhere much.
They cost $50 and are well worth it. Explain to her the NO ONE on the net is safe.
God, I am still trying to explain this to adults when they ask why I use a cartoon as my avatar.
My daughter plays Nintendogs cats etc on her DS her friend has a DS also and there pets when she comes over or she goes there interact nicely. PSP Handheld has WIFI games that are also free to connect and they can't chat. Its safe.
Like I said those are all options. i don't think the net is for kids. Way back in 1991 when I started on the net we had news groups. alt.sex.whatever you just typed and evetually you got what you wanted. I was 15. I was doing it as my parents just did not care so long as I was quiet.
Again Spend time with the kids don't let the computer do it for you.
