A few months ago my nine year old step-daughter started her period. She was with me when it happened. I had the pleasure of explaining what was happening to her body. Her reaction was funny- a mixture of excitement and disgust. She is wearing deodorant. My husband can barely tell our bras apart. It just seems she is growing into a woman way too quickly. One of the biggest struggles is finding clothes to fit a developing nine year old that don't showcase her womanly frame. It is really hard to keep her looking like a kid. I worry about her experiencing advances from boys because of this. I have to stay on top of her about deodorant and making sure she is prepared with sanitary needs. It is a lot of responsibility for such a young child. Pimples are another issue. I wish she could have the carefree life of a kid for a few more years. If any of you guy have advice or similar experiences I would love for you to share. Thank you.
