Three Year Olds!

Hi, my daughter is 3 and some people say 3 is worse than 2. In our case, it is. She can't keep her hands off things; is very insistent on being in control, e.g., what she will wear, eat, do; is destructive with things; purposely does things like grab an egg off the counter top and throw it on the floor; and is generally hyper. She laughs off my attempts to discipline her, e.g., runs away from the naughty spot, won't stay in her room, etc. She's making me insane!

Any suggestions? Is this normal behavior for 3, or should I be concerned about this behavior or our parenting style? If you've already been through the threes, please advise!

You are not alone in this. My son who will soon be 4 is the same way.
When we became parents we were warned about the terrible two's. The thing people failed to tell us that it last for about 20 years.

My daughter started doing this at age 2. I don't know what to do about her either. No amount of discipline seems to work. Thanks for ruining the illusion that when she turns 3 she'll be an angel again. :)

Sorry to ruin the illusion! But I hear some kids are worse at two and some at three - so you have hope. At two it was mostly damage control; now it's no control!

my kids are all the same they make me wanna cry, i still love them though and im hoping this is just a passing phase however with my son its frustration as he has speech problems, but they never listen to word i say, maybe im saying it all wrong, is there more than one way of saying no?

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
