My daughter is quite the talker. She will carry on a conversation with you with the vocabulary of a 7 or 8 year old, and she is only 26 months old. Since she began talking I have coined the term "Reesie-isms" ... this meaning little things that she comes up with seemingly "out of the blue." About a month ago, after naptime, she came to her door, and said "Hey, Mom, I'm awake and I'm stupid." I just stood there... can I laugh, do I scold her for using the word... no, I held it all back, and simply said "Reese you are very smart." She responded, "DONT SAY THAT MOM! NO I AM NOT! I AM VERY STUPID." Obviously she has no clue to the meaning of the word, but she repeated the phrase "Im stupid" for about a week, and I never could pin point where it came from. Just yesterday, however, it came to me. My kids are allowed to watch TV or a Movie after breakfast, while I clean up a bit, but after naptime, the TV goes off. Naptime for Reese typically means play by herself in her room time. I sometimes leave the TV on while they are in their rooms for naps, but usually turn it to the news, etc. That day, I remember, I did not... the same goes for yesterday. At the time they take their nap, Spongebob comes on. After Reeses nap, she looked at me and said "Mom, I hate you. I hate all of you people. You make me sick. I never want to see your face her again." "Hmmm," I thought. Evidently she has been listening to the TV when I leave it on, and she absorbs every word she hears. What kills me is that this is a child's cartoon... what kind of idiot wrote that crap for CHILDREN? I understand that the content may be more suitable for older children, but it comes on early in the day. That is the reason my kids cant watch TV after nap, the shows are more "grown up" after about lunch time. ... Is it just me that has a huge problem with this? Maybe I am overreacting...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
What the kids deam as funny, we see as dumb...I'm sure it was the same way when we were growing up. I remember watching HR Puffinstuff (is that what it was called??) and other shows of the like and I swear those people who made those shows were on acid.
Each generation has their own thing, and this one happens to be Spongebob. The kids will say what they will, but it's up to us to tell them if it's inappropriate or not. Personally, my kids hear and see worse things when DH and I are watching football!!
