About once a month my 2 yo will wake up from sleep and need a little cuddling before he goes to back to sleep. It's usually only about 10 min and it happens so infrequently, that it's not a problem. I figure it's just a bad dream.
My question is... how does he know when I'm about to fall asleep to start crying? Last night he went down at 9:30 (late for most kids, but his normal time), I turned out the light next to my bed at 12:45 (what can I say we are a family of night owls). At 12:46, I hear the first whimper! Our bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house there is no way he heard the click of my light! This is how it always happens: I snuggle down and get comfy and then he needs me!
Does this just fall under one of the Murphy's Laws of parenting?
