My son's pediatrician says he needs 2 flu shots this year because he's 1 year old. He got one last appointment and I was supposed to schedule the second shot 3 weeks later. Well, for some reason they couldn't schedule that type of appointment in the office that day. I called the next day, and the day after, and the day after. I couldn't get through to anyone to make the appointment. They don't even have an answering machine anymore.
After that, I forgot about it. Imagine that. It's been over a month and he never got the second flu shot. Still can't get through to the Dr.'s office. I guess it's a busy time of year. Do you think he'll be ok without this second shot? I still don't understand why it's necessary anyway.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

That year they ran out my kid only got one (which frankly I think was irresponsible on my doc's part) and they told me he wasn't protected until he got the second. They split the full dose into two to avoid reaction. Since they only get half, then they aren't covered.
If you are forced into a position of having to repeat both shots you could always explain what happened (not being able to reach anyone) to the office manager and request that they do not charge you for one of the shots. In any case if you want him to be protected he will need both shots.
