This past Friday while I was taking a shower and my mom was "keeping and eye" on my son, he climbed up on his activity table, and pulled a big Christmas decoration off of a bookshelf and it hit him right next to his nose (right in the crease where his nose and cheek meet). It (the scratch not his actual nose) bled a little bit, but really wasn't all that bad. Problem is he WILL NOT quit picking at it and he is making it worse. I have tried a band-aid and he gets that off in a matter of minutes. I am afraid of him getting it infected by fingering it so much?? Last night I put some neosporin on it with a band-aid and that lasted through the night, but first thing when he awoke picked it off... grrr. Any advice on what else I can do to keep it from getting infected? With all this staph talk going on and learning that staph is inside the nose, I am scared for this to get infected. Thanks for any advice. :D

liquid bandaid

I agree.. liquid bandaid is a good idea, as well as trimming his nails as short as you can without getting to the quick. My daughter has never left a bandaid on for more than five seconds so I know where you are coming from. Good Luck

have u tried a reward for him if he keeps bandaid on for x many hours and praise him for all good attempts to keep it on

For ointment, I found Bacitracin works so much better at healing thing than Neosporene. Keep putting that on even though he keeps picking and it will shrink in a few days. Or at least that has worked for me.

I agree with the liquid bandaid and trim the nails, I would clean it really well and then put the liquid bandaid on and see if that helps. Good luck!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
