My son is 7 months now so I'll officially join this group in Feb, but I just wanted to ask for some advice from people who are further along than we are. He's been an OK sleeper until he was 3.5 months old, meaning he'd go down with me rocking and singing and sleep 5 hours. Then nurse, sleep another 3, nurse, sleep another 3 and wake around 6 am. But since he's learned to use his hands this all changed. He started waking each hour and knocking out his paci and crying. It's been now 3.5 months and we've tried everything. Co sleeping helps me put him to sleep faster when he wakes up but he still wakes up. Swaddling helps to some small extent. Cry it out doesn't work at all. He cries and cries for 1.5 h then falls asleep and is up after 2 hours with more crying. My pedi says she had a patient like this who grew out of it between 7 and 9 months. This makes sense to me since I think my son's problem is that he wants to practice the latest skills such as sitting up, crawling, etc. He does that immediately when he wakes up. So my question is does anyone on this board have a child who was like this as a baby? When did he/she start sleeping better? I need some hope :) Thanks!

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
