I have a 17 yr-old daughter that is eagerly awaiting her 18th birthday. She has been talking about that tattoo for 3 years now. I have mixed feeling about it because I have raised her to be a mature, responsible young woman with a mind of her own. But I don't want her to make a mistake that will have repurcussions in the future. Don't get me wrong--I like tattoos, I think they look good on some people. I just don't want my baby girl all tatted up. Yuck! She says it will be somewhere where it doesn't show. It will be the Sacred Heart of Jesus on her chest, right above her cleavage. Yikes! That's noticeable. She's a wonderful child in all aspects, believe me, respectable, "straight edge" (but don't call her that!LOL) I've been watching those reality shows about tattooing with her, hoping she will see how painful it is... all she says is "Wow! I can't wait!" with a gleam in her eyes. Should I just get over it?
