The last two years have been somewhat tough for my 13 yr. old daughter. She lost a couple of close friendships and doesn't feel very connected to her classmates. It seems to me that her self-esteem is low, even though she is a good student and athlete. She doesn't try to initiate new friendships with people anymore and has let some old friendships go by the wayside. She spends a lot of her free time alone in her room reading. She's involved in various activities but doesn't reach out to people. I think she's afraid of being rejected or getting hurt again. Anybody else going through this with their teenager?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
