I need ideas on how to motivate a kid who has very few interests. With my other children there was always something that they wanted. One daughter loved her friends, my other son loved his freedom. With these things as carrots, they had the motivation to keep up with their school work and chores in order to have what they wanted. They found jobs, are going to college and are out in the world now being contributing members to society. I have one son that only loves basketball with friends. He has little motivation to get good grades, get his license, get a job... Since he has broken his foot he has even less motivation. When I take basketball away he says "fine, I don't care." And then goes to his room and sleeps. Any suggestions?
