my son graduated from High shool when he was 17 then he turned 18 he went and got a tattoo, piercd his nose, started stretching his ear piercing, got more tattoo, he currently have 4 and now he went and got a snake bite piercing!!
He started community college in the fall and he had planned on transfering to a 4 year college soon. He now tells me that he is going to drop out of college and move in with his friend, start working more and that's what he wants to do. I tried to talk to him and try to make him understand what he is doing to himself but he already have his mind made up. He said he wants to start "Living" what is that mean?? Currently, we pay for his car, his cell phone and free food at the house. I feel like a failure as a parent and can't stop crying. I told him that once he leave the car goes and the cell phone too and he will really be on his own. He said FINE. I gues I need to let him do this but why do I feel like a bad mother?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Give him like 2 weeks to pull it together. no one can pay for stuff overnight. and then his bills are his bills.
good luck. I didnt move til 21. But I cleaned the house and paid for my own cellphone, car, and clothes.
Society today is much more accepting of things like tattoos and piercings. While it's unlikely that he'll be hired in a lawyers office, maybe he'll get a great job doing customer service on the phones or working construction, which pays great!
If you're lucky, he'll come back. If you're luckier, he'll have a great job and be able to support himself, and come back.
Don't be a bank for him. Make him do it on his own.
This isn't you, this is HIM. He's a kid. He has to find his own path. It's not yours, it's his, and if he messes it up, it's his mess to clean up.
You've already been through this, now it's his turn. Just be there for him emotionally and when things get rough, he'll come running back to Mom.
