I confronted my 14 year old son last week with the question. He admitted to me that he has an attraction to the same gender. We discussed this as a family and advised him that we loved him and we would always be there for him. I did some research on the matter and found that I really need to get him in counseling. When I approached him with the idea he became very angry. He says I am trying to change him with therapy. I tried to explain that from what I have read it is somewhat comman for boys his age to feel this way and that I believe a professional is best to advise us. He is not receptive to the idea. I live in the Atlanta area and trying to find a support group to help in locating a therapist and someone to talk to about all of this. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate.
