What was left out was hide little thing that you don't care if someoneelse finds them. Then draw a simple treasure map and take them treasure hunting.
Another idea would be going outside and finding nice leaves and then bringing them inside and doing an arts and craft with it.
Since it is Halloween season, see if there are any apple picking or pumpkin picking places near you. Little kids love to pick gourds and pumpkins and taking them home. Then once you get home you could carve it or pick up paint and stickers and decorate it.
Just a thought.
Also, we set up "Dora the Explorers" type of adventures in the back yard... and they go through the tunnel, up the stairs, over the rock, etc.
Also, you can visit your local museums. I'm always amazed at how much the kids enjoy all types of museums.
Have Fun!
Seriously I don't think I ever grew up. I think sometimes my kids want to kick me out of their play. However last weekend I got to be queen mommy and they had to build me the biggest fort ever!
We also run around the back yard pegging each other with those squishy balls.
Use your imagination what was absolutely fun to you.
