Today while my 4 year old son was outside playing, he came to me and asked for some water. I had a bottle right there with me, so I gave it to him. Just by luck, when he opened his mouth I noticed something in there. I took a look and saw what looked like a blood red rash on the roof of his mouth. My son is my eyeball, both of them are, but this son was born very premature and he was plagued with multiple health problems. Today he is just fine with the exception of a few minor problems, but I still worry like crazy. So naturally, my wife took him to the doctor. Just our luck, his doctor was not in today, so we saw the doctor that was filling in. She says it is nothing. She said her first thoughts were strepth throat, but since he is running no fever, he is eating normal, and playing like his usual wild self, she does not think that is the case. All she said was for us to watch it and if over the next few days he starts running a fever or acting sick, to bring him back in. This was a very nice doctor, but I would have felt more at ease if those orders came from his regular doctor, the one he has had since birth. I know that I just worry to much. He acts like there is not a thing in the world wrong with him. The only time he has cried today was when I did not get him to the toy store fast enough to pick up a toy car he has been waiting on all week. Yes, he is very spoiled, lol. But have any of you ever seen anything like this in a child's mouth? If so, what was it and how long did it last? God bless you all and thank you for your replies.
