I'm glad I have boys and don't have to deal with Barbie.
It's up to you, the parent, to teach what is right and wrong. Personally, I see nothing wrong with the dolls, my girls learn self-esteem from me and my family.
Sorry, but this is just one of those things that irritates me. Just as you argue that these dolls give your daughters a bad image to try and become, you could also argue that boys who play with dolls will become crossdressers.
