Yesterday my husband decided to test the 4 year old (who, mind you, is normally clumsy), and take off the boy's training wheels. I told my husband, you take him out there and I will stay here. I can't take watching the kids get hurt. So, after about 10 minutes, there was NO crying (and my son is like a siren)...HE WAS RIDING!!!!! After about an hour (and my poor husband sweating from running behind him up and down the street) my son learned how to stop and start by himself.
Just had to share that. I was so excited!

I am so impressed!! Hooray for your husband for all the hard work!. I waited too long to teach my older one and almost wasn't strong enough to support him when running along side. Thought I would have a heart attack. I won't make the same mistake with Derrick. We will get him riding this spring if possible. (He will be 4 in March)

Thats great! My daugther was 4 when she learned but my son was 6...they learned the same summer. My 3 year old hasn't been on a 2 wheeler with training wheels yet, she likes her tricycle to much to give it up.
