4 year old scared of the dark

I am wondering if this is a phase he is going through or what can be done to help with him being scared of the dark. I am pregnant with a baby girl and wonder if this has a little to do with it but it seems like this started a little before he found out I am pregnant. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

this was my son too, i took him to ikea, just bec they are cheap, and let him pick out his own special lamp that could stay on all day. it has a red cover that is sealed all thew ay, so it doesnt give off too much light keeping him awake so see if you can lean him in that direction. blue or red light is great for sleeping in, but blue is supposed to calm you. thats all my son needed, good luck.

My daughter, too, has been dealing with a fear of the dark in the last few months. Her imagination is so vivid--she's always telling stories--and I think her fears are very real to her because of that. She sleeps with her closet light on (with the door opened a crack), a night light on, and she has a seahorse that is a lot like a gloworm (it lights up and plays music when she squeezes it). Some nights when she's particularly fearful, I'll lay down with her to help her relax and settle down. A few nights ago I told her to hug her stuffed animals, because scary things don't like stuffed animals, so they'd keep her safe. That seems to have worked momentarily!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
