I have a Ped appt on wed, so I plan on asking this same question to our Dr, however just curious what everyone else's take is on this. I have been giving my som 2 tbls of cereal mixed in with 8 ozs of formula 2 times a day for the past 5 wks. He loves it. Recently I heard on this post along with some lititure our PEd gave us that you shouldn't mix solids in with formula, and should feed them separatly b/c it can cause excessive weight. WHy is this? My son really doesn't like eating the cereal off the spoon, and its almost impossible to get the right consistency. He does eat baby food just fine off the spoon, so that is not the problem. When I do try to feed the cereal off the spoon, I still give him the same amount and end up dumping what's left in the bowl into his bottle, where he finishes it with no pblm. So, what is the difference??
