my newborn well now a month old sometimes goes a whole day without pooping, then the next day when shes does, it looks like thich green tar ( sorry for so much detail) and it looks like she has trouble passing it.
Is it ok for them to go without a poop, for that long, sometimes theres not one for like 32 hours..she is formula fed if that makes a difference.

theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
The grunting to poop... crying or straining is all normal. It doesn't mean she is constipated unless her poop is pellet like or hard. But be careful because formula-fed babies tend to get constipated easier than breast fed babies.
The green poop ... is your formula iron-fortified? That can cause green poop ... but ask your doc.
If your baby acts uncomfortable during feedings or after ...call your doctor.
But if the poop is softish, if she goes once a day or so, and if she seems generally happy, I wouldn't worry.
Good luck! xx
