My son has a hydrocele.

I'm not new to daily strength but I am new to this parenting site. My son is now 2 1/2 months old and has been diagnosed with having a hydrocele. The doctor has assured me that it's not a big deal but, I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this and if so was there any problems? I'm just a worrying first time mommy. Any advice would be wonderful. Thank you.

I have been here before, a long long time ago and now I am back.Forgive me for not just saying what I want to say, even under a triple dose of antidepressants it is still raw and seeping and I am hesitant at revealing it as at least under the bandages around my heart I don,t have to look at how raw and wounded. My child was cleaved from my heart by his own actions. my child of ten, turning eleven...

theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??
Nonetheless, I was definitely concerned, so I know where you're coming from (and I wasn't even a first time mom :). I'd have his ped check it each time we'd go in for immunizations and there was never any change. Miraculously, when it came time for his 12mo. c/u it had disappeared. His doctor did not seem surprised and said that it usually always takes care of itself. It's supposedly not painful and very rarely needs intervention.
I'm sure everything will be fine, but I understand your concern. Just keep an eye on things and make sure it's not tender during diaper changes and that there is no discoloration or noticeable swelling. Best of luck :)
Congratulations on your recent delivery. I hope you are enjoying the smiling and cooing that you are witnessing these days. Hydroceles are common enough and although they should be watched at your routine well child care visits by your pediatrician, most all resolve during that first year of life.
And for those who do not know what a hydrocele is, it is a collection of fluid around one of the testicles.
