My son's 7 months and he has no teeth. He LOVES putting everything in his mouth and has been like this since 3 mo. He also tries to take my food. We've started solids which he loves and I'm sure the mouthing things is more of an exploration than hunger. I'd love to let him chew on some food like a slice of an apple or pear or apricot or banana. A big slice so he can just gum it but not choke and I think he could suck some flavor out of it. It'd be better than chewing on toys which is what he mostly does with them and it'd be better than me saying "no" and moving my food out of his reach, which is what I seem to do all the time now. I have already tried to give him a big slice of apple and he loves it but I'm constantly afraid that I'm overlooking some hazard since I've never heard of people doing this. Do you do this with your babies? Am I missing something? Obviously there should be no skin that he can accidentally swallow but what else? Thanks!

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
