My daughter always gets this dry red patch on her cheeks. It goes away then comes right back, does anyone know what to put on her cheeks to make it go away and not come back?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Quite often this is a component of baby eczema (which can also occur in the flexural areas of the baby's body...behind the knees, where the arm bends at the elbow) and is quite normal in infants. Certainly, dry weather, certain foods may aggravate or irritate it, but overall, not much too worry about unless the infant's skin is dried out all over.
For the mild dry cheeks, I will use a non-scented moisturizer and if they become a bit dryer, I might try an ointment (which is goopier) on the cheeks to maintain the moisture...like a vaseline or aquaphor (and no, I am not here to endorse a specific product).
Hope this helps,
Dr. Jeremy
My son has the same problem. We took him to a dermatologist and he told use to use Vaseline. I have also used aquaphor which cost a little more than vaseline. But I have found both products to work the same. I would also use cetaphil Cream during the day if we were going somewhere so he didnt look greasy. Good luck!
