My son has a big head. It is not round like most babies heads are and it flat in the back. Well, its not as flat as it used to be now that he is sitting up, it is rounding out. But when you look at the top of his head, its more of a heart shaped head than a round head. When he went for his 4 month and 6 month check up (He is almost 8 months now), the Dr had mentioned that he had an oddly shaped head. She talked about prescribing one of those head braces for him, but insurance will most likely not cover it since it's cosmetic. The Dr is keeping an eye on his head growth and shape. Although she said she is not concerned that there is anything wrong with him, I am kind of nervous. She said she has only had one other patient that had an oddly shaped head and she thinks its just in that baby's genes. I remember my daughter's head being more square than round when she was a baby too, but I don't recall her head being flat. Thoughts?
