How much food should my 8 month old be eating? I feel like I mix up a random amount of rice cereals a couple of tablespoons of veggie and fruit and it varies from meal to meal. Are there guidelines somewhere? Abby has been so excited to eat that I feel like maybe I haven't been feeding her enough...seriously, I can't reload the spoon fast enough. She is still drinking tons of BM - I'm having trouble keeping up! I thought I read somewhere that they don't know when they are full...don't want to overstuff. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

He turns away when he has had too much. I heard that if you want to keep up your supply you should nurse 1st. He is now looking for more we feel so we will add an ounce here and there.
6 oz bottle in the morning around 9-10am
oatmeal and 1 jar fruit for lunch at noon (stage 2)
4oz bottle around 3pm
1 jar veggie and 1 jar fruit for dinner at 5 or 6 (stage 2)
4oz bottle before bed around 7 or 8
3 bottles a day does not seem like very much at all to me, but it seems to work for her. Shes eating every few hours from the time she's up to the time she goes to bed, but still.
I too have heard that they have a hard time knowing when they're full. The lactation consultant told me it takes 20 minutes for their brain and belly to communicate that they are full and don't need anymore. I would love to hear others thoughts on this too.
Now at 11 months he is eating a full jar of food for breakfast, 2 tblsp infant cereal and 1/4 a piece of toast or some cheerios.
At dinner he has half a jar of infant meats, a tablespoon or more of whatever we are eating (provided it doesn't have too many additives) and a jar of veggies and a tablsespoon of infant cereal mixed in.
Somewhere I have a guideline of suggested meals, but it seemed like way too much food. My DS really packed it away this evening and it showed in his tummy.
The rest of his diet is all BM with about 1 oz of water as a 'treat' in the evening after dinner. He is nursing about 5 times between 5pm and 7am and takes about 5 oz during the day with the sitter.
