Lately my when my 5-year-old does something wrong and gets in trouble he gets extremly angry at himself. He will hit himself in the head or arms. When I ask him why he is doing those things he tells me that he is mad at himself for whatever mis-behavior he did. For example, the other day he hit his cousin while they were playing and had to stand in time-out. WHile in time-out he began hitting himself in the head repeatedly. He wasn't hitting himself hard enough to do damage, but it's still awful to watch him do something like that. When I asked him about it he told me that he was mad at himself for hurting his cousin. Is this a normal phase or is it something I should be concerned about?
