Just wondering from you guys. I know I had my first one at age 16. I had to go to the er room. I remember though, having a rapid heart beat a few times before the BIG attack. But I've been thinking alot lately. I was always a nervous kid, very shy, backward, and never left my mom's side. I remember as a child I used to get hives alot on my chest.
I remember going to a therapist once in 1999 and she just wanted to sit there and blame everyone, I'm done with the blame game including myself. Just wondering if anyone else might have felt the same as me? Like I said the first bad pa was at 16, but now that I look back maybe I've always had them???? Anyone else feel the same?

I was always a shy and very nervous kid, hated going out by myself and had my first panic attack at 13 and like you have been to ER because of one, my Mother had them and so did her two brothers so I do believe at least part of it is built in.

Absolutely. I completely believe that we were born this way. I realized this as well about 4 years ago. When I first started having them really bad at age 17 or so, I thought it was something new and I treated it that way for a long time. I wondered why I had just started having them, but then as time went on and I thought about things, I realized, my whole life has been this way. From the earliest time I can remember. I was very nervous as a child too and I did have panic attacks then, I just didn't know that's what they were. And I guess they weren't as bad because I always had my parents around to make it better. And to reitterate, I honestly believe that we were born this way.

Hi hun, some people may have been born with it.I was always a friendly child, and i had my first one when i was 18,i do not believe i was born with mine, but that is just what i think.Everyone is different,so i can't say for sure about anyone else.I am the only person in my family to have them.Like i said, you could have been born with them. But as i think,it could have been there all along, and hidden.

I was always scared of nothing as a kid. Never had pa till 30 though. I think I just learned to shrug it off until my breaking point. I also never heard of anxiety and pa till I had it.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
