Hi- I have been having panic attacks, or what I thought were panic attacks for more than a year. However, after telling my doctors multiple times that I always get dizzy and feel panicky when I go from laying down or sitting to standing up, they think I may have POTS Syndrome (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). POTS has some of the same symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks. So, if you are someome who gets dizzy, light-headed, short of breath when standing up, it might be a good idea to do some research. The main symptom of POTS is your heart rate raising when you stand up from sitting down. When I am sitting my pulse is 85, but when I stand up it goes up to at least 120 and stays there. Also, your blood pressure becomes low upon standing up. Here is a link about the syndrome if anyone is interested.
