Do any of you notice that your anxiety is worse when you PMS? I brought this up to my therapist (who is not a doctor) and she seemed to think it's unrelated. But like clockwork (and yes I mean clockwork- I'm on the pill) about a week or so before I start, my anxiety levels rise and I'm more prone to panic attacks. It makes sense when I think about it considering the hormone levels change. Just wanted to know if anyone else out there noticed the same thing.

My doctor told me yes it has a lot to do with it. I am the same way.

yes it does. My doctor also told me that it gets worse right before my period starts.

It sure does! Especially the light headness.

Most definitely for me, too. I'm considered perimenopausal now but actually started going thru menopause about 1.5 years ago. My doc put me on bioidentical estrogen & progesterone to balance my hormones & it's helped. A lot of the PMS/anxiety has to do with dropping progesterone levels at that time. Progesterone helps keep you calm, so when the levels drop you feel more anxious. I sometimes have trouble breathing the night or two before my period.

Yes i do have more anxiety issues when it is PMS time. I have been told by a couple of doctors over the years that PMS increases anxiety levels.. Makes sense really cause PMS already causes its own issues and then add the anxiety to it and just makes it so much worse..

I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
