I was on it for three years at 75 mg and with the dr's plan I weaned off them just fine. No problems whatsoever. However I got depressed again within a year and I'm back on them. They have been the best antidepressant for me and I'm highly sensitive to lots of medicines. If you go off them just wean off them and you will be fine. It's when you quit all of a sudden when you can get dizzy and naseua. Good luck!

The effexor made my migranes stop, but the withdrawal is one of the worst things I've ever been through.

i know you did not want to hear any bad news...and we need to remember that everyone's chemistry is different. however, effexor xr did not seem to help with my ocd and panic. i also, had severe withdrawals when coming off of this med and wound up in the hospital. like is said we all have different chemistry...hey...this could be the med for you!

I have been on Effexor Xr 75mg for over nine years. It worked wonders for me. But is starting to loose its effectiveness because I have been on it so long. I will be switching to a new med soon. Probally Cymbalta. I'am really nervous about coming off of the Effexor. As I to, have heard bad things about coming off of it.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
