I have been on Effexor for 11 years, it has caused me to have high blood pressure. My family doctor kept saying oh it's ok it's just border line. Well I had a heart attack. I have changed physicians and he wants me off the Effexor, and I am scared, I have tried Zoloft and Paxil, when the attacks first started. Effexor has helped alot although i still have high anxiety and panic attacks, the full blown attacks are not as often. But the high blood pressure is too much of a risk factor. Does anyone take Prozac and does it work. I also take a mild dosage of Valum. I would appreciate all input. Also if you are on Effexor you may want to read up on it. Panic attacks are so similar to a heart attack. The only way I knew it was my heart, I had what I thought was indigestion and terrible pain in my back. Thanks to all, you are in my prayers and God bless.
