my first severe panic attack (like go to the ER attack) came while I was driving, but i drive all the time still. Sometimes I will have moments of worry, but I don't avoid driving. I think my panic attack while driving was just a coincidence.

I had the beginning of a panic attack while driving to work one day. I popped 0.25mg xanax into my mouth and concentrated on abdominal breathing and positive thinking. I prevented a full blown panic attack but for a short while I was afraid to drive on the freeway. I'm fine now and driving is not a problem. I commute an hour to work so I really can't avoid it. I love listening to my IPOD and singing along.

I just made myself do it-drive. I had a nasty car accident in Aug. 07, and I had a horrible anxiety attack at the scene; I was terrified to drive, but I had to drive the car off the bridge so the ambulance could then take me to the hospital (my neck, ribs and back were hurting badly, but the police said they weren't authorized to drive my car even though a dr. on her way to work said I didn't need to be driving); my mom is agoraphobic and gave up driving years ago and rarely leaves the house. I don't want to become a prisoner of this stupid disorder of Panic, so I make myself do it. Plus, my husband works out of country and there isn't anyone here for me to rely on. It kinda is a blessing in disguise.

i had a really bad one about two weeks ago and since then i have still been edgy but you just have to focus on the fact that you have done this 37 million other times without anxiety and also if you get a book on cd or something to look forward to with your commute it helps... i am currently listening to a french buddhist monk talk about his philosophy on happiness... very pleasant for the commute.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
